Karen Birt   Karen Birt is a painter, working in oils and acrylic with a commitment to the physical, known world.   To date, she has been best known for portraits in oil on canvas conveying a powerful sense of the sitter's presence.   New for 2009, Karen has developed a new series of spectacular and contrasting skyscapes of Kent and Cornwall.  Drawing on the experience of looking out and up from a specific point in the landscape, the paintings create a sense of place and rootedness.  Karen's next exhibition will be at St Julian's Club from 12th march - 7th April 2010.
