New for 2009,
Karen has developed a new series of spectacular and contrasting skyscapes of Kent and Cornwall.
Drawing on the experience of looking out
and up from a specific point in the landscape, the paintings create a sense of
place and rootedness.
The Kent paintings take advantage of the huge views
that open up across the Weald and towards the Downs
from points on Hubbards Hill and the Greensand
Way.
The Cornwall paintings
explore the constantly changing colours of the sea and sky looking from St Ives
across to Godrevy Lighthouse.
Working in acrylic
on canvas, Karen has used colour and form to create a vivid evocation of the
prospect from one particular place at a singular moment in time.
